MACE RESTORATION PROJECT

The TM-76B Mace surface-to-surface guided missile (serial number 60-715) was transferred from Orlando AFB, Florida to the "Rocket Garden" at the Air Force Space and Missile Museum in September 1964.  The Mace airframe was originally assigned to the USAF Tactical Missile School, 4504th Missile Training Wing, Orlando AFB and was transferred to the Museum by the Redistribution and Marketing Branch of Patrick AFB.

The contract for restoration of the Mace was awarded to American Aero Services of New Smyrna Beach, Florida. It remained on display in the "Rocket Garden" exhibit area of the Museum until it was removed for refurbishment on 20 May 2005.  Restoration was completed at the American Aero facility in New Smyrna Beach and the Mace returned to Cape Canaveral AFS on 10 May 2006.
